As Arane traveled through the snow towards her den, a drift came out of no where. She knew now that she needed to get the pup in her mouth out of the cold. She paused to shake her fur before continuing.

When the den came into view, Arane shook her tail feeling the familiar scents of home. She trotted into the darkness and placed the pup in the thickest patch of moss strew on the cold stone ground. Then she herself lay down and curled around the pup to her warm. She licked at her head a few times before putting her head down with a sigh. Her stomach was empty, and the pup must have been starved. There was nothing left to do, but wait till the others returned.

Her thoughts strayed to Aaron, the darkly male and for some reason, dreamed of life together with him. She saw the sun, and the clouds... What a happy dream she had.
